The past year has brought an avalanche of news about smartphone addiction.
We learned this, this, and this.
As a result, we are now experiencing a backlash against smartphone addiction. Our goal is not to eleiminate screen time, but to cut down on nscren time.
Summer camps can make a substantial contributionn to this effort.
Our smartphone addiction workshop provides campers with the knowledge they need to break their technology addiction over the long term.
is designed to ids who attend summer camps that ban smartphones are awoken to the profoundly negative effect excessive phone use has had on them.
Our on-site seminar for campers helps your campers optimize the benefits of this awakening as it's occurring.
In this seminar we do the following:
* we teach your campers why people become addicted to their phones, the compulsive behaviors phone addiction causes, and how these compulsive behaviors hurt them
* we have your campers individually reflect upon and articulate the changes they have seen in themselves and others as a result of not having phones while at camp
*we help them discover the motivation to reduce their screen time after returning home by facilitating discussion with each other about the benefits of reducing screen time
* we help them develop a practical plan that they can implement back at home that will help them reduce their screen time

You can choose several workshop levels: educate, reflect, plan.
First we educate campers about smartphone addiction --- the behaviors that put us at risk, the mechanisms of addiction, the compulsive behaviors it generates, and the negative consequences of these behaviors.
Next we get people to reflect on their own experience using our framework and self-reflection exercises.
We then provide campers with a planning guide with suggestions on how they can address the problem once they return home.
Using the framework we provide, we then have campers reflect on their experiences with their smartphones. Our workshipseminar is designed to educate students about the problem of smartphone addiction, to motivate them to want to do something about it, and to model for them a way to adress it. A first step in any of those is to educate students about the problem. Our smartphone addiction seminar is designed to help you take the necessary first step in implementing any new policy or changing culture --- it's designed to raise student's awareness of the problem. We will educate your kids. Raise awareness of the problem of smartphone addiction. And instill in them some motivation. Mutual support.
