Screen Education's past research has found that smartphone addiction is corroding the environments of two important realms of our lives: school and work.
We wondered whether high school students were sufficiently frustrated by the corrosive impact their excessive smartphone use that they would welcome bold, broad-based solutions to the problem. In order to find out we partnered with InnovateMR and statistician Glenn Stark during the summer of |
2021 to conduct a national survey high school students.
In addition to examining students' views on a set of broad solutions to smartphone addiction, we also explored how widespread smartphone addiction is, the consequences of smartphone addiction, how frustrated students are by their smartphone addiction, and the extent to which students want to address their own smartphone addiction.
