Michael Mercier, President of Screen Education, Delivers Opening Keynote Address at Tech & Trek Conference

Screen Education's President, Michael Mercier, delivered the opening keynote address at the second annual Tech & Trek Conference, held June 19-21 at Hiram College in Hiram, OH. The address was titled "Helping Your Students Manage Their Screen Time". The Tech & Trek Conference is co-sponsored by Hiram College and ideastream, operator of public radio and TV broadcasting stations in Cleveland, Ohio. Screen Education Partners With Hiram College To Conduct Digital Detox Research Study

Screen Education just completed the data collection phase of a digital detox research study it is conducting in collaboration with Hiram College.
Hiram College, located in Hiram, OH, has a field station located in Munising, MI. Munising is on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, just a few miles from Lake Superior, and deep in the woods of Hiawatha National Forest. It is completely off-the-grid, and lacks cell phone signals.

Garrett Munro, Instructional Designer at Hiram College, and Screen Education are collaborating in this exploration of the experiences of 13 Hiram College students as they spend 6 days on-site without tech access. Our goal is to better understand what people experience as they go through a digital detox.
